Gale Force Winds Devastate Orange Farm

The recent rains and strong winds have completely destroyed prefab structures at Orange Farm for the girls Musallah and sleeping area, storage rooms & kitchen! Alhumdulillah the bathrooms & toilets currently under construction have not been affected.

The living situation now is even worse and the children are in dire need of new housing structures. Some local community men are prepared to build the housing structures at a nominal fee provided we supply the bricks and cement.

YOUR URGENT SUPPORT IS REQUESTED.

Update on the Borehole Water Project (On Hold)

As u know we have been collecting money for the Orange Farm Borehole Project. A few people have donated and we collected R18 000 thus far. After some information that was received from a person who has done a few Boreholes Himself in Durban, a few issues have surfaced which needs to considered before this borehole project goes ahead.

1. The municipality is going to start charging for Borehole water.

2. The water that is pumped from the borehole may not be suitable for Human consumption. When the survey is done, they check if water is available but they do not test if the water is suitable for consumption.

This bring us to a critical point. Is the borehole a feasible idea or not. More information regarding this and also going to meet with the members of the Orange Farm Project to discuss the matter.

At this point I urge everyone to STOP MAKING ANY DONATIONS to the Borehole project.
